Camp Stonewall Brig March 9th 1864 Dear Sister: We have all gotten safely back again to camp, but this morning have orders to cook two days rations and be ready to move. It is generally supposed that we will go to Chancellersville but we do not know. But feeling that I might not have an opportunity to again soon I would let you know that I was. I expect my commission as 1st. Lieutenant every day but it is rather slow in coming through. I have again gotten a bed fellow, Joe Chester, who has been ordered back from Staunton. Camp life goes quite hard with him just now after so long an absence, but he is such a good jovial fellow that he will soon get in to the traces again. I must close. Good bye Ted
