Katherine Donnelly is a member of the Class of 2011 of Washington and Lee University. This study seeks to identify the most significant financial issues facing low-income individuals in Rockbridge County and to suggest solutions that can be implemented to solve the problems identified. We have compiled data outlining the key problems and have created a central list of financial services available to both individuals and organizations. Ultimately, we have established recommendations for implementation and further work. Washington and Lee students and local organizations have expressed strong interests in assisting with community financial issues in the future, and we hope to provide a strategic outline for the project and the services that students can offer to the community.
