    Description
This statement gives a summary of charges against the legacy from Hugh Adams for Sylla and her five children and her husband. There is one line for purchases from McNutts, another line for purchases from A. M. Carsons, charges to a doctor and a medical account. It appears that she purchased her husband and free papers for the entire family. There are also charges for emmigration and board while waiting for departure. The original bequest amounted to $3528.96. The balance was $1325.74. The statement was witnessed by W. McLain, Fin. Sec. A. C. S. (American Colonization Society).
