Capstone; [FULL-TEXT FREELY AVAILABLE ONLINE] Victoria Seymour is a member of the Class of 2020 of Washington and Lee University. Portions of the American public have many misperceptions about the nature and consequences of undocumented immigration, and when we correct these misperceptions, against the background of the philosophical framework of Carens and Miller, we see that Americans should favor regularization of the status of undocumented migrants. My research, combined with existing knowledge on both documented and undocumented migration into the United States, will contribute an ethical consideration on government policies regarding immigration and the misperceptions that come from them.
