President Gaines invites four student members of the Mock Convention Committee to a luncheon. He and Mrs. Gaines hope to have Senator and Mrs. Duff as houseguests. They will be joined for luncheon by "the real Virginia Republican leaders" as well as "a representative group of student leaders." The location is to be at Dean and Mrs. Gilliam's beautiful garden. The "Lexington Garden Club will serve a very lovely dinner" because it is the opening day of Garden Week. They plan to enjoy the luncheon shortly before the Mock Convention parade begins.
