dc.description.abstract | In order to combat malaria effectively, we must utilize a broad range of proven preventative and therapeutic treatments. Mobile health – commonly abbreviated as mHealth – hosts the potential to more effectively connect preventative and therapeutic resources to hard-to-reach communities. By using mobile technologies, like mobile phones, health systems could engage a larger population, increase access to high quality care, and reduce intervention costs. Greater efforts to collect evidence on the cost-effectiveness of anti-malarial mHealth interventions must be exerted, but early studies suggest that mHealth can catalyze anti-malarial interventions.
