Student statement about their experience: "My time in Brazil was a crazy experience! I knew no one going in, and I left with new Brazilian friends who helped me develop into a better person. While there I saw both how different circumstances and mindsets can be in different places but also how similar people are everywhere in the world. Rio de Janeiro was an amazing city for me to live in. The history and culture are fascinating, and the mountains and beaches make for the best outdoor living I've ever experienced. Between sunrises in the Amazon, hikes to Cristo Redentor, cable cars to the top of Pão de Açucar, my local team's soccer games in Maracanã, days spent on the beach and the Carnaval parade in the Sambódromo, the experiences I had there will stick with me forever. I learned lessons that will last for a lifetime, and I will never forget the blessing it was to call Rio my home for a semester!"
