    Description
    The convention opens with the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem, followed by talks by the Mayor of Lexington, Douglas Brady, and Chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia, R.C. Henderson. Chairman of the Young Republican National Federation, Buzz Lurkins then gives a speech about the importance of youth involvement. Walter H. Judd, a Republican from Minnesota, and candidate for president, speaks about his life in politics.
