This is the third of six volumes of Alexander Sterret Paxton's Civil War journal covering the period from November 2 through November 21, 1861. The diaries are about Paxton's service as a member of the 4th Virginia Infantry of the Stonewall Brigade, including his role as a Commissary Sergeant of the regiment.
