This is a letter from the Committee on Unemployed, signed by Mrs. Eliza Walker, Chairman, and Mrs. Virginia Gilliam, Secretary. The letter is addressed to "Fellow white citizens of Lexington" and urges the hiring of local citizens and discourages the hiring of "imported servants very often cheaper than the accustomed pay to our local servants."
