This photo shows a group of people posed on an outside staircase. There are six men who appear to be wearing uniforms and carrying musical instruments. Slightly above and behind them are a man, a woman, and another woman holding a small child. The photo is printed on heavy card stock and appears to have been trimmed by hand. The back of the photo includes these handwritten notes: "Mother, J. T., Edwin, Wrights' Orchestra" (and in another hand, "played for WL. Dances"), "Dance at W and L." (And in another hand, "World War I. 1917")
