This is a handwritten folded note with the date February 28. The envelope with it is postmarked in June 1885. The return address on the note is 1411 Mass. Av. And the signature is something like Geo. Edwards (possibly Edmunds?). The text of the note is brief: Dear Mr. Tucker, I am going to have the Senate judiciary committee dine with me Saturday night March first, substantially all by ourselves. Will you not join us at seven o'clock & take potluck. My little shanty is not large enough to give me the pleasure of asking your whole committee, but I should be most happy to have you as its representation."en_US
