| dc.description.abstract | The aim of this paper is to treat the most prominent points of similarity and difference in these two narrative poets. The study will be based almost entirely on the masterpieces of the two poets, the Canterbury Tales and the Earthly Paradise. These two works are of such nature and scope that they will illustrate the qualities of each writer fairly accurately. Again, the relative ability and worth of the two poets will be arrived at in this study. Morris, living nearly five centuries after Chaucer deliberately took Chaucer as his literary model.
