Capstone; [FULL-TEXT FREELY AVAILABLE ONLINE] Michael P. Barry is a member of the Class of 2018 of Washington and Lee University. In this paper, I argue for the moral obligation of instituting a school lunch program with high nutritional standards using a bioethical framework, and I evaluate the new NSLP's [National School Lunch Program's] effectiveness in achieving its goal of reducing childhood obesity. My analysis indicates that the new NSLP is no better than the old NSLP at generating positive health outcomes, and may in fact be worse. However, a more nuanced analysis is required to better answer this question. [From Introduction] Mike Barry
