The problem of this thesis is to provide some kind of a suitable approach across North River from the Lee Highway, as an entrance to Lexington, Virginia. . . . The solution of this problem as presented in this thesis, is to construct a steel Pratt truss with an eighteen foot (18 ft) clear roadway across Horth River, and to change the site of the present roadway entrance into Lexington, details end design of which are given in the accompanying thesis.
